Animals, with their physique or behavior, have been a reference in all cultures of the world. To demonstrate this, we don’t have to go very far. Our most characteristic fauna, the one that we have more at hand and know better, is the one that we usually use to refer to a person by a quality or a defect.

The list is almost endless, and with, it it is almost impossible not to get it right: snakes, eagles, snails, cats, dogs, mice, scorpions, turtles, cows or donkeys. They are part of the linguistic imaginary to which we usually allude, either in the form of sayings or with colloquial expressions.

Animals as symbols of wisdom: a constant in most ancient and current civilizations that we must try to keep intact, because it is one of the few resources that we will leave to our successors. They have served as guides throughout history, and can still do so. Their values are universal and understandable by all, so their protection is essential so that they continue to be part of our progress as a species.

In this infographic (in Spanish) we can read some examples, but there are many more that we could include for its present use.
